After hearing a friend of mine talk about a name he likes for his future daughter, I got to thinking about alliteration.

He likes the name Tabitha. His last name is Thomas. Tabitha Thomas.

I don't know why but that just bugs me. I typically don't mind alliteration (I've got a friends whose initials are CC and it doesn't bother me) but this one has really got me in a tizzy.

Feelings on alliteration? Any combo of letters drive you up a wall?

I actually don't know all that many people who have the same initials in the first and last names. Most of the ones that I can think of are fictional, especially from Harry Potter (which I love).

That being said, I kind of like it, most of the time. And I do like the example of Tabitha Thomas. I like it better when there aren't also a lot of similar sounds within the name itself, in addition to those first initials.

Edit: I just went through my Facebook friends, and there are actually a lot more alliterations than I remembered ... I guess that shows how not annoying it is to me, when I didn't even notice so many of them!
