So i am only bringing this name up because it has been said before and wasnt completely trashed right away. I am usually against the place name thing for babies, but for some reason this one has stuck with me and i think its adorable.

Thoughts, opinions, comments, ideas etc welcomed, (keep in mind, im not having babies any time soon and i am not planning to name a baby this, i just think it sounds interesting)

Tennessee

Do you think there are too many letters? Would the kid constantly get asked the pick up line..."are you from Tennessee, cause you're the only ten i see?"

I personally dont like names that infer to a place or time, like April, Georgia, etc. I dont think they make sense. If you werent born in April, or in Georgia, why would you name your kid that, and if you Were, I think its lame. Like Hey my name is Georgia and I live in.. You Guessed it, Georgia!
So, I wouldnt do it. :]

See i agree with you, for every single other place name, but oddly enough i do like Tennessee...but then the issue is, i live in Manhattan, have no plan to move at any point, except to perhaps Westchester or Connecticut - can you live here and have a kid named Tennessee?

i wouldnt move any time soon :) im 23, not planning to get married or have babies any time soon - but i want more then 2 kids and i think that might be difficult in the city - so westchester and conn seem like they would be my next options :) but ill keep that in mind!

ugh. don't move to westchester either. i'm assuming you mean westchester county in ny. i grew up there. it's overpriced and full of snobs. i would not want my kids going to school with the kids over there.

aw i love westchester! i went to school there, true there is an affluance to the area, but i dont think it necessarily connotates snobs.

granted, i grew up in the hamptons and nyc, so i may just be used to it :)

Fair enough. I usually think of that right away, but that's probably because I took Russian History my freshman year and I had to do several reports on Georgia. ^^
