Heard the name of a gal that used to work at my company today:

Anastasia. Nothing out of the ordinary, right? Only, it's pronounced ah-nah-stah-SEE-yah

For why with the random pronunciation? Does anyone else pronounce Anastasia like that? It seems so pretentious to me. Like telling people my name is Jessica, only it's pronounced jees-ICE-ay. Also like the Rave pronounced Rahv. Totally unnecessary and confusing.
