Story Names
Sep. 2nd, 2008 04:44 pmI'm gonna start writing a story about vampires soon, and I was wondering: what names are appropriate for a male vampire and a female vampire? Any help is appreciated.
PS. Try not to use names from Twilight (i.e. Edward, Bella, Rosalie, etc.).. Thanks!
PPS. Any kind of name is welcome, no matter how "out there." :-)

First, there is only one thing SMeyer has done right with her characters, and that is give them names within the proper social context. The characters, vamps and humans and shiftshaping wolves alike, all have names that depict correctly when they were born. Alice, Edward, Emmett, Jasper, and Esme all have early 20th-century names, which is great since that is when they were born. Second, SMeyer fails when it comes to naming is that her immortal vamps never change their names, which makes the fact that their true identities as immortals haven't been revealed pretty amazing, since it's easy to track a person when they carry the same name everywhere and all of the time. Remember: is it wise for your immortal characters to not change names every so often? In the show New Amsterdam, the main character has a new alias every ten years.
Good luck with your writing!
