So when i was little i went through different stages when i wanted to change my name.
For a really long time i wanted it to be
Consuelo
Joking around with my fiance when i was pregnant before we found out the sex i offered this name and he shot it down SO HARD.
"HELL NO!" while making gagging noises.
Is it TOO ethnic?
If it makes any difference i'm from Hispanic decent.
I don't think it's THAT awful. I mean it's not Zuma,Harlow,Etc....

It would be weird if she didn't, causing confusion, but I think it's totally fine in your case!

And think they're illegal because of their last name?
I'm quite suprised that mentality is still going around..

And besides, if people are going to be shitheads because you have a Spanish name, then are those really the type of people you want to be associating with? The answer is not trying to hide your heritage; the answer is saying, "Racists aren't my bag, adios".

In any case -- I think Consuelo is a horrible name. Although it translates into "consolation" or something along that line, "suelo" itself means "floor" and always conjures images of your stereotypical overweight Latina maid you see in all those novelas. It's also a religious name, which you may or may not be comfortable with.

The last name would also be Braswell.
I know of the meanings i don't always take those into account.

I really like it. What about Consuela, to make it a little more feminine, if that's what your fiance wants?
