So when i was little i went through different stages when i wanted to change my name.
For a really long time i wanted it to be

Consuelo

Joking around with my fiance when i was pregnant before we found out the sex i offered this name and he shot it down SO HARD.
"HELL NO!" while making gagging noises.

Is it TOO ethnic?
If it makes any difference i'm from Hispanic decent.

I don't think it's THAT awful. I mean it's not Zuma,Harlow,Etc....

Out of the five of us, three of whom live in Spain, I am the only one with a traditionally long, scary Spanish name. I used to hate it; people would assume I spoke Spanish, I get Spanish mail, telemarketers call me in Spanish... Some even got angry at me because they thought I was pretending I didn't speak Spanish, which I now find hilarious. As an adult, I think I would have been resentful had my parents given me an "American" name instead of a Spanish one. I don't give a shit if total strangers are going to give me trouble due to my name; that's their problem, not mine. People are always going to find a way to be stupid about something.

And besides, if people are going to be shitheads because you have a Spanish name, then are those really the type of people you want to be associating with? The answer is not trying to hide your heritage; the answer is saying, "Racists aren't my bag, adios".
