My favorite name for a girl is Amanda, which I know a lot of you think is not so cool these days due to the whole 80's-90's trend. (it was never popular in my country, btw)
Anyway, I was just thinking about nicknames. I don't really like nicknames, and if I have a daughter she'll always be Amanda to me, but it's still interesting to see what you guys think.

Other than the obvious Mandy and Manda, which nicknames would work? Would Amy work?

In Norwegian, which is my first language, we don't change the vowel sound. It's said like Ah-mah-ndah or something. :) But I understand where you're coming from.

Yeah, that's basically how we say it.

But we say Ay-me. Not Ah-me.
