We've talked about some of the worst/craziest names we've heard, but what about some of the worst/craziest name spelling you've come across?

I've met males named Izaya and Airic.

i had finally come to terms with my neice being named Madison Elizabeth...

Til i found out two days ago that the B*tch of a mother she has (that I hated anyway, she's my SIL) spelled it Madisyn Alisybyth...

WTF?

Butcher my name, why don't you...

~~~Elizabeth.
P.s. and I thought *my* middle name was heard to learn to spell.
Worst ever spelling pronunciation? I got cursed with it.
Meckenziegennette. It is Meckenzie and Gennette (Jen-ET) put together, and pronounced Meck-en-zee-jhun-ah. I hate you to, Mother.
WOW.
That by far is the craziest name I've met someone with the name of.
lol. i takes a bit getting used to, yes. I finally gave up on my husband saying it, but what do you expect from a guy with Paul for his middle name? *giggle*
Lol
Most people cant spell my middle name.
It's Jacquelynn, and they think it's like Jaclyn or Jacklyn. Those are the "American" spellings. Mine is the traditional French spelling [well, okay the real french spelling only has one N, but whatever].
your POOR little neice. She can always have a name change when she gets to 18 to finally end all those "No, you spell it M-A-D-I-S-Y-N A-L-I..." conversations.
From: [identity profile] lizziey.livejournal.com
I've already told her mother i'd be glad to pay for the name change. she had the nerve to say, at least she put my name in there, i told her she screwed it up so bad, i din't recognize it, thus not counting.
i'm also willing to pay for her counseling...
you can always do what I did with my baby sister. My mum saddled her with Melissa (I've never known a particularly nice Melissa) Plus there's like a million Melissas out there. So from the day she was born I started calling her Missy and now that's her going name. Just start calling your neice Maddie.
already done, but i call her Alyssa, to piss off her mother, :-p
My 2nd best female friend is a very wonderful girl named Melissa Sue, so rest assured there are good ones out there. And i went to jr. high with a nice one, too, :-D
haha well you should tell them their unique spelling clearly isn't that unique as there's another poor little madasyn or whatever running around too :( god i can't even remember how its spelled in the time it takes to write out the comment...
:~P
I try not to talk to her mother, if it can at all be avoided. It was the "ew, two year olds should be dirty at all, they need to stay clean" comment that made me want to kill her...
I Co-op in a grade four class and theres a girl named Krystle...drives me nuts
Date: 2006-03-06 08:15 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] krazyhippie.livejournal.com
I know a Krystle. And she's 25 so it's not even part of the modern name-butchering trend.
From: [identity profile] rockstargrrrlie.livejournal.com
I think Krystle was a character on Dynasty so that's probably where her parents got the spelling.
Not incredibly odd ... but me mum was going to name me Lindsay, but spelt "Linzi". Personally, I'm glad she didn't; I really am not a fan of that spelling.
It really bothers me when people change the spelling of names just to make it look phoenetically correct, but really all it does is butcher a perfectly good name.
For example:
Christopher > Kristofer
Date: 2006-03-06 08:59 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] dionysia.livejournal.com
Kristoffer is a legit Scandinavian spelling of Christopher.
Date: 2006-03-06 09:04 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] dingo83.livejournal.com
Excellent. Apparently I chose the wrong example then, since I never knew that.
While your example was not accurate, your sentiment was. ;)
Airyckah...supposed to be Erika.
Airen...supposed to be Erin.
I haven't met anyone with a butchered guy's name yet.
Took me far too long to figure out what Izaya was supposed to say. I thinks an indication at how horrid it is.
