Names you hate

Abigail. Probably the most hideous name I've ever heard. Sure there are some bad names like Horace, Agatha and stuff like that. But, I think Abigail is the ugliest name around. I hate it so much. Is there a name that you hate so much that it brings distaste to your mouth? Fess up! There's gotta be some!

well, there are names like greta, bertha, etc which are absolutely terrible (does anyone like those?), but i really don't like the name jennifer. i have a few friends named that and i love them, but i don't understand the appeal of that name or why it was so popular in the 80's. as for boys, i absolutely hate the name duwayne/duane/dwayne... i feel bad for anyone named that.

Oh and my father-in-law's name is Dwayne and I can't even pronounce it right it's so awful!

People in the eighties named all their kids Jennifer and Jessica because those were terribly rare and exotic sounding at the time. The reason you and I associate them with dull upper middle class children who were in your kindergarten, is because that's what we knew them as. The parents didn't have that experience.


It will be the same deal with all of the "Makenzies"/Kaylas/Madisons/Olivias/Ellas that are popping out nowadays ;) That cool ye olde english connotation will disappear in a couple of years and the name will just be associated with the spoiled brat who got named that :o)
