Hi Everyone,
I need some advice. I'm not pregnant and won't be for three or more years, but I am in a very serious relationship. One that will (hopefully) end in marriage. He and I enjoy discussing the names of our future children, and I'm turning to this community for advice.

My mom's name is Cecelia Marie. I'm Caitlin Marie. I've never liked either of our names (though I much prefer mine to hers) but my mom named me with the joy that she and I would have the same initials. I would like to do the same for my daughter one day.

So, what are your favorite "C" names for girls? I like Charlotte and Clara very much, and did like Cailee and Cree, but Cailee/Cree Marie is wayyyyy too rhyming for me. He likes Carmelena (his paternal grandmother's name) but I'm less than thrilled with it. He's very willing to compromise and seems to like Clara more than Charlotte.

What do you think of Clara Marie? Like it? Hate it? Also, any other "C" names you think would go well with Marie. The last name begins with an "M" and is eight letters and very Italian sounding, if that helps.

Thanks, guys, I appreciate any suggestions you have. :-)

Love Clara, not crazy about Marie, but as it's a family name I totally understand. They do go well together.

Carmelena is a bit much for me. I can take or leave Clara - it's pretty, but the only Clara I've ever known was about a hundred years old, so it's an old lady name in my mind. I also like Claire, Catherine and Charlotte.

Oh, I also like Celia - which is similar to your mother's name (obviously). Just a thought :)

I really like Clara Marie (my middle name's Marie after family, too). Charlotte is beautiful, too.

I also like Catherine, Camilla, Cara, Carolyn/Caroline, Clementine, and Corinne. Clara has special meaning to me, though, because my family sees the Nutcracker every year. :-) Charlotte and Catherine are beautiful as well.

I think Clara Marie would be very pretty with an Italian last name. I know a guy whose last name is Maggioli, so that's what I'm using to go on and I really like it.

I'm surprised nobody's said Christina Marie, that would go well too.
My favorite C-names for girls:

I love Clara but I'm inclined to pronounce it Claire-ah because that was my grandmothers middle name (Her name was Ellen Clara).

I also love Charlotte because I love the name Lottie.

My favourite C name is Caoimhe (pron. Keeva) but I would understand why others wouldn't want to use it :D

Okay, I had to put that name in some files for a website I'm doing (was the name of a contestant on a BBC Reality Show...) and it took me FOREVER to figure out the right spelling...because for awhile I could have sworn they were calling her "Queefer"...and I knew that wasn't right.

Anyone care to explain the Irish/Gaelic (I guess?) spelling system? Like I don't understand how Niamh is "Neeve" either....

Caroline and Charlotte are my two favorite C names, and I think both would go decently well with Marie.

I also like Cora, but not as much. Cora Marie isn't too bad either though.

I think Carmelena is beautiful and it is nice to give a nod to his family as well.

I really like Charlotte, might use it myself. I prefer Clara to it's counterpoint Claire.

Cree sounds too harsh and that is not a pretty spelling of Kailey.

Marie is a pretty vanilla mn, so almost anything you like would probably go with it.

Some of these are NMS, but all are names I've heard before,y faves are bolded--
Christiana
Catherine
Catrina
Catrine
Chandra
Chaney
Charlene
Carlene
Chlorine
Corinne
Corinna
Cora
Coral
Coraline
Carys
Chayla
Calliope
Cara
Carmen
Carmella

um.. sure there's tons more.

Clara Marie makes me think of Marie Claire, so I'm not a fan. I like Ceclia and Cassandra.
