Twins for Brangelina!
Jul. 13th, 2008 02:03 amYahoo is reporting that Angelina had her twins yesterday (the 12th) by c-section! Yay! I'm so excited. So many celeb births this past week! And from my favorites!
The names are being reported so far as Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline. LOVE THEM! YAY!
They join siblings Zahara, Pax, Maddox and Shiloh.
Congrats to them!

Date: 2008-07-13 07:37 am (UTC)I love the name Vivienne, and the significance of Marcheline. It's not a name I'd pick, but honoring family members forgives a lot of name sins I'd otherwise take issue with.
I don't care for Knox Leon at all, and I agree that Knox/Pax/Maddox is overkill with the X sounds.
Vivienne is the only name of all their brood that I actually like.

Date: 2008-07-13 10:23 am (UTC)Knox is silly, but I live Vivienne. And it's cool the middle name is after her Mum.
They were born the day before my b'day (which is today ^_^) :D

No obscure letter in Shiloh's name. :P
That being said, I'm loving Knox Leon, but Vivienne Marcheline doesn't seem to fit, does it?

Date: 2008-07-13 12:55 pm (UTC)I'd say Vivienne is the odd one out, it's the only legit western name!

Date: 2008-07-13 12:28 pm (UTC)Ew, but wait, Marcheline is apparently some silly smooshing of her mother's first and middle names, but her mom did go by it. Ugh.

Date: 2008-07-13 12:55 pm (UTC)Marcheline I mind less because it's obviously to honour her mother, but I'm still not a fan.

Date: 2008-07-13 01:38 pm (UTC)Knox is the middle name of Brad Pitt's maternal grandfather, I believe. and Leon is Angelina's Great Great Grandfather, or something.
So, I like that they use family names... but I do agree that the MaddoX, PaX, KnoX is a little much for me.

Date: 2008-07-13 02:08 pm (UTC)Yes, it's close to Pax and Maddox obviously, but they seem to have a theme and this way is named after family; Knox sounds more Western than both of them though.
They're nice though. Pretty 'normal', I would say. Shiloh is still my favourite name though.

Date: 2008-07-13 02:20 pm (UTC)Also, Knox is WAY too close to Pax and Maddox. But maybe they were going for a theme...? :-\
It's made up for by the awesomeness of Vivienne, though.

Date: 2008-07-13 02:59 pm (UTC)i agree with pretty much everyone else, she seems to have a thing for obscure letters. whatever. i cant stand those two anyway, so im not going to waste any more brain space on it.

Date: 2008-07-13 03:05 pm (UTC)Vivienne Marcheline is pretty. Though I'm a little disappointed it wasn't Isla Marcheline like in earlier rumors. I thought that was a perfect name for a Brangelina baby.
Knox, Vivienne, Shiloh, Pax, Maddox, Zahara
or
Felix, Isla, Shiloh, Pax, Maddox, Zahara
:-/

Do the children have hyphenated names or do they just go by Pitt because Knox Pitt sounds absolutely terrible.

Date: 2008-07-13 09:00 pm (UTC)I've heard Knox is Brad's grandpa's name...so I guess it's a nice gesture. I just don't like all the xs. and Vivienne is such an old lady's name. I hate it. I really love Marcheline though.
Hmmm

Date: 2008-07-14 01:25 am (UTC)I actually really like Shiloh too, and I think Zahara is pretty, despite the criticism flowing in from every direction. Maddox is cute for a little boy. I can't see it aging well, though. And Pax...it's a lovely name in theory, but I have a hard time seeing it as a name that could work on a person.
