Alex, Alexis, etc

babynamesBeen a few days since I did a poll here, so it's about time to post one again :)
I was looking of that list of baby names from the SSA website (http://www.ssa.gov/OACT/babynames/) and saw Alexis at number 11. Personally, I can't stand this name, but it got me thinking how weird it is that I like some of the Alex names and hate others. Just wanted to see what everyone else's opinion was. Here's the list of all the female babynames starting with "Alex" that were in the top 1000 names in 2004. For reference, I put the number it is on the list beside it.

For the record, Ethan won the boy's name poll, while Olivia barely won the girl's name poll.

Date: 2006-02-21 01:38 pm (UTC)Probably because it doesnt sound much like ah-lix.. it's uh-lex-uh, so i dont see it as many of the other female versions of male names, (which i dislike immensly) like Erica for instance.
