I'm 22 wks pregnant with a little girl, and we've decided on naming her Kalinda Devi Garza. Wasn't chosen because it sounded cool, or trendy, but rather because of its translation (the sun resides in the heavens) and ease for others. Not to mention, it sounded pretty nice with 'Garza'. While my husband has a pretty common name, Tim, my name is pretty rare, and I wanted my own daughter to have a name that, like mine, had a meaning to it. Plus, I've always been an admirer of Sanskrit/Hindu mythology names. Thanks for the opinions!

Those names have a nice flow. I knew a girl called Kalinda when I was 7.

I think it might be better with a C instead of a K, and I'm just not feeling the middle name.

It sounds like you're trying too hard, to be honest.

I am not fond of people using ethnic names without a legit family reason to.

I just think that there are names that are so intrinsically tied to their etymology and historical background that they should be respected and serious thought given when someone not of said background uses them.

I'm a European mutt, like many Americans, but I don't think it's appropriate for me to name my children Eleftheria or Giuseppe, even though I am 1/4 Greek and 1/4 Italian, kwim?

Now THIS is really an original and very beautiful name! I love the meaning and I think it just sounds awesome together! Very good choice! Your daughter is so lucky to have parents with such a good taste in names! Really, great name! :-)

Really not my kind of name, i don't like it much at all
But it obviously means a lot to you & i think it's great when parents choose their kids names with care!!
I'm all for uncommon names.. just that, this one doesnt happen to do anything for me.

Oh a i thought of the reason why it isnt sitting well with me, I don't like K names especially...
They sound really harsh.. (which makes no sense when i say i prefer K to a C because they sound the same!) Also, I have bad association with the name Linda. If i changed the K to a C & too out the ND to leave Calia.. now i like it!
Oh i do have strange opinions!
