Does anyone here know the meaning/origin of the name Devonny?

It's the name of a female character in this old time-travel book and I've never seen it anywhere else. The only suggestion I've found is that it might be a pet form of Devon.

I've never considered it as an option before but my husband heard me talking about the book to a friend and he mentioned that he thought the name was interesting. I must like it (at least subconsciously) because it's the only name from the book that I remember :)

Yeah, I think so. Prisoner of Time or something like that. I read it so long ago; it's all fuzzy.

It's just so strange because it seems like a made up name but not quite at the same time. Oh well.
