I've been lurking on this comm for forever lol.

But I finally decided to post something.

what are your opinions on these names.

Sian (pronounced Sharn) thats my name.

Bethan (pronounced Beth-anne) my  13 yr old sister

Riona (rhymes with Fiona) my 11 yr old sister.

EDIT: I am British, Sian & Bethan are both Welsh names and Riona is (i think) Irish

Also one of my mums hairdressers relatives has a little girl called:

Heaven-Leigh (pronounced Heavenly)

WTF????

I'm confused on Sian being "sharn". Not that I disbelieve it, but I know Siannan is pronounced "shannan", so I'm not sure where the R comes from.

It's screwin' with mah head! :D

I think it's pronounced like "Sean" in America. She's from the UK. :o)

Maybe it's the accent, but in the UK there's quite a distinct difference between the pronunciation of Sean and Sian. Sean is like shawn/shorn and Sian is like shahn/sharn.

That's definitely a UK thing.
Here, unless it's a distinctly local dialect, it's all "shahn/sharn".
