What would you have been named if you weren't named what you were named?

Or, to be less dense, what other names did your parents consider for you and your siblings?

Joee (yuck - one of mom's top choices)
Brandee (yuck - ditto)
Daphne (meh - mom overruled because she didn't want me to be called Daffy)
Tiffany (yuck - ditto above, but Tiffy)
Scott Anthony (if I had been a boy) - (meh. Not horrible, but not great)

My sister is: Summer Lynn

She could have been:
Joshua Ray (yuck) (Ray was after her father) - this is now my cousin's name

I'm Jessica Camille (ugh)

I was very close to being named Katarina, sort of after the figure skater. or my first name would have been either Camille or Katherine. but ultimately my mom decided all three of those names didn't sound right with my last name...haha. i still don't get it. i wish my name was something more original than Jessica :( and i used to seriously hate my middle name until recently.

I love Camille!!!

I am Lelah Ann. If I were a boy, I would have been Garth (nooo!), and other girl names were Lucy or Anastasia (G.G. Grandmother's names), or Zanzibar. Yeah. Zanzibar. Apparently my Dad was really pulling for that one!! And I am so glad I wasn't named that!

Zanzibar? Oh man that would have been horrible! Lelah is gorgeous, I think you ended up with a great name!

My mom liked Erin, but she vetoed it when my dad wanted to name me Erin Karen, hahahaha. If I'd been a boy, I would have been Scott Timothy (Timothy after my dad). Instead, I'm Lindsay Rebecca. I like Erin, too, but I also like my name.

My brother would have been Lindsay if he'd been a boy. My mom really liked the name, but my dad wanted something different with me (which, obviously, didn't work out for him). Instead, he's Michael Paul. There was never any question about that one. Michael is in honor of her uncle, but I'm not sure the story there (his name was Donald Charles? hahahaha) and Paul is in honor of my dad's older brother.

My mom was considering Angelica for me, which would have been bad since I grew up while Rugrats was popular.

My mom was also considering Jeremiah for my twin, his nickname would have been Jeremy. But I don't think she would have named me that had I been a boy.

I'm Kristina and my twin is Jacob.

If I was a boy I would have been:

I'm a Lori Anne (named for my great grandmother Monnie Anne, but no one liked Monnie). My mom was very...firm with her names. She picked out the names before we were born and those were the names we got:) If I had been a boy I would have been Matthew Ryan. My older brother is Brian Allan (Allan after my dad) and my sister, Stephanie Nicole, would have been Matthew Ryan if she had been a boy...although my brother and I were pushing for Battle of the Planets names. I do have a cousin named Ryan Matthew...auntie stole it:)

If my aunt had her way, I could have been named Alice. I would have LOVED it! Alice Elizabeth is a nice combo.

I'm Kayla Dawn.

My mum had picked out Stephanie, but someone else at my parents' church named their daughter that and so it was scrapped. Mum actually heard Kayla on Days of Our Lives and it was one of those names that stuck. Dawn's after one of my mother's friends, and I think that was always the middle name choice.

For boys names, she liked Andrew Scott, but the initials would have spelt ASS, and Mark Anthony (Anthony's my dad's name) but it was too close to Marc Antony for her liking.

I'm Julianne Sarah.

I'm not sure about middle names, but I know she was considering naming me Jessica (thankfully she never! Wayy too popular). She changed her mind when her neighbour at the time had a baby girl and named HER Jessica. She was also going to name me Crystal, but my cousin named her daughter Crystal, and she was also considering Cassandra. But when she had me, all those thoughts flew out the window and she decided to name me after her mother, whose first and middle names were Julia Ann. She was debating between Julianne and Julianna, but she decided Julianne after because she thought Julianna sounded a bit too overdone. (Interesting fact: my middle name is from my other grandma, so basically I'm named after both my Nan's :D)

For my sister, I don't know any other names she had picked out except Christine and Christina. She asked me if I wanted to decide (I was about 6 or so at the time) and I decided Christina. (That was the one they liked better, anyway).

I'm Natasha Cecelia.

As far as girl names, Natasha Cecelia was all they could agree on, so that's me.

If I'd been a boy, they would have named me Nicholas Peregrine.

I adore Cecelia.

I'm a Kelsey, but Shaina was my planned name up until the last minute.

My brother was Clayton for almost all of my mom's pregnancy, but my father was really pulling for Beau for awhile. Yes, Beau. Ew.

My mom had two girls' names picked out, Sharon Lynn and Rachel Marie. I was going to be Rachel, but at the last minute my dad changed his mind. So, Sharon am I. :) My sister is Rachel.

My twin brother is Michael John, after our dad. Other boys' names considered, were I or my sister male: Joshua David and Nathan Hale.

I'm Emilee Lurae, and alternately I could have been Olivia or Harry.

If I'd been male, with my last name, it would have been like naming someone Peter Peterson....

it was always Aimee Marie for the first girl. actually it was Amy Marie, but my dad liked Aimee better.
I would have been Zachary if I were a boy (they never bothered to choose a middle name, as I was "definitely" going to be a girl), but in the womb I was referred to as Charlie.

my brother is Steven Martin. my parents liked the name Karl, but with our German last name, it was a no-go.

Name I was givenL Diana Elizabeth Pearl (Now going by Elisheva, the Hebrew original of my first middle name which I shared with my late grandmother 'Betty Lou;). This was chosen on the fly as I was 'meant' to be a boy named Tyler Joseph.

My brother is Dustin Jacob Caldwell, meant to be Heather Noelle Caldwell if he was a girl (born 26th of December).

My sister is Devon Nicole Joanne, meant to be Derek Joseph is she was a boy.

I'm Autumn Yvonne, my dad wanted to name me Jolene or Joel depending on sex. His name is Joe, so go figure!

I am Laura but I could have been Emma or Rebecca.
If I was a boy I would have been Christopher (My younger brother's name) or Craig.

I am Shawna Lea Dorene. I don't know of any other girl names my mom looked at; once she came across Shawna, it sort of stuck.

If I was a boy, I would've been either Brandon (my brother) or Justin.
