I am annoyed at the movie industry.

Since about a year and a half ago, my SO and I decided that we'd name the next boy we had (if we had one) Tristan. I've been in love with the name since I was a teenager after reading the fable, Tristan and Isolde. Now I fear this new movie (which, incidentally, I can't WAIT to see) will make the name unbearably popular. Growing up as 1 of a zillion Jennifer's in the 80's has turned me off completely to anything extremely popular. I don't want to name my child that and it become the new "Aiden". So it leads me to this question, should I automatically dismiss it if it does become insanely popular? Should popularity matter quite so much when choosing a name? Ideally I won't have to worry about this when it comes time to think about it (we're not even trying yet, probably late this year,) but I was just wondering about it while trying to avoid working.

Opinions?

I am blaming Friends for making the name Emma popular. I picked it out ages ago for bookworm nerdy reasons. DH and I agreed on it long ago. dammit! Um, but I am going to use it anyway :) Kid can just suck it up, little brat!! But really, there are tons more different names used these days, than when we were born. Whereas there were 8 Lisas, Jennifers and Melissas, there's really only two Emma's and lots more ****lyn's. at least, this is what keeps me going :)
