Is Reba a nickname for Rebecca?

If it's not a traditional nickname for it, could it pass for one?

My cousin's name is Rebecca, and she goes by Reba. So I'd say yes.

our daughters name is rebecca, which we love. But since we also hated the nicknames becky and becca, and weren't wild about reba, we are using her middle name instead. But to answer your question, sure reba can be used as a nickname for rebecca. :)

Wow, such a coincidence, I was only just wondering what other nicknames there are for Rebecca besides Bec/Becky.. have heard of Reba but haven't met one, are there any more? I was thinking of maybe Ria (a bit more obscure) ... anything else?

I suppose it could be, but personally I prefer Bec or Rae.

it doesn't have to be traditional. if you like it as a nickname, go for it.

Yep definetly could pass for one. Having said that i really don't like either name. Rachel & Rebecca was the Jennifer & Amanda's of my age group in England- However, Rebecca sits well on a grown up & I do think Becca is an awfully cute nn.

Reba could definatly be a nickname for Rebecca, IMO. I'm not too fond of it though, it just sounds too country for me (but you like that sorta thing, lol). It doesnt really fit with your other two kids names though.

I agree with everyone else, Ria is very cute and it works nicely.
