Ok, I am as tired as everyone else of Aiden/Caden/Braden/Jaden etc. But this one struck me for some reason.

A little girl came into where I work called Shaeden (prn Shay-den). She was Irish, and it looks sort of Gaelic written down, so I don't know if it's made up or not.

I think if I'd have heard it before I read the name tag, I wouldn't have liked it at all. But because of the spelling, and the fact that it struck me as Gaelic, I don't know - I just didn't lump it in with the other -aden names out there (also, her middle name is Blake, which is one of my favourite names - albiet for a boy - so that might have made methink differently about it) And while I wouldn't use it I think I might actually kinda like it....

Just wondering what people thought?

i like it, especially since it seems to be in context.
blake as a middle name for a girl is fine with me. shaeden blake just works, i think, and maybe there's a story behind it.

It makes me laugh, cuz my best friend's name that he uses online is Shaden. Methinks maybe the family wanted a boy? ;x

Shaeden Blake is v. gender neutral, almost a little too masculine for my tastes. However, I agree with you about it not getting lumped in with the other -ayden names.

When I was younger, and would imagine various stories and such,
my heroine was always called Shaedan. I like it.

Shayden is kinda cute.

And I am one of the few people that doesn't really mind Aiden/Caden.

Braden and Jaden I could do without.

Haha, I just commented on another post how much I like the name Blake for a girl. So I'm happy to see it on another one. Shaeden though...I don't know. I'm not really a fan.

Urrr... not a fan of Shaeden. It just sounds gross to me, like Shame + -ayden trend.
