I was talking about names with a friend (this seems to happen often with me, haha), and she asked me what a few of my favorites were. So I started listing them; Oliver, Miles, Colin, Catherine, Charlotte, Juliet, and the first thing she said was that they all sound very English. I had never thought about it before but I guess she's right.

Do you guys have any favorite naming nationality or ethnicity?

I love Celtic names, so long as the spelling is not far off from the pronunciation (Siobahn = Siv-AHN, for example). My name is French, and constant mispronunciation makes me almost wish I were an Emily. :D

To me, Miles and Colin sound Irish to me, Charlotte sounds Welsh, Catherine sounds Scottish, Juliet sounds French, and Oliver sounds English. Quite British/European.

Outside of my adoration for Hebrew names, I don't really know. Owen, Alexandra, Franklin, Irena, Zachary, Mirabelle, Edmond, Emmeline, Richard, Winifred...I guess quite a few are quite British, but mostly it's classics (or old... ;)

I love English/English-sounding names too.

Slavic names seem to appeal sometimes.

I think I tend to seem very English with my names as well -- my favorites include names like Margaret, Louisa, Eliza, Harriet, Eleanor, Catherine, Juliet, etc. For boys, I'm a mix of Hebrew with names like Sam, Ben, Caleb, Levi, Elijah, Nate, etc. and English with Charlie, Will, Henry, etc.

Irish, French, Russian :)
Not that I'd necessarily use names from those countries, as it would seem weird, but just generally gravitate to them.

I'm really in to Spanish and Italian names, though generally only for girls. Some of my favorites are Carolina, Emilia, Isabel, Leonor, Lola, Lourdes, María, Sofía, Alessandra, Fiorella, Francesca, Gemma, Gianna, Giovanna, Isabella, and Leonora.

I like a lot of Hebrew names, but a lot of my top names are from such a wide variety of nationalities.

My choices normally evolve around being able to be pronounced correctly in English, but since I'm Norwegian, I love some Norwegian names and pronounciations.

"Hebrew Names"

When you are saying Hebrew names, do you mean Biblical because I barely ever see modern Hebrew names. Just curious.

English, Greek, Irish. I quite like Spanish/Portuguese/Italian names; ones that are similar to english names but usually with o's or a's on the end lol. such as eduardo, fernando, raphael etc.
