babynamesWhenever I see someone naming their child Jade I always think, why not Jane? Jade might have been lovely once but it has been used so much that it's generic now. It's going to be the "Marie" of its generation. Or Jennifer. Whereas Jane has endured for centuries and hasn't lost any of its charm. It's feminine, but not overly so. It's not "porny" or "trashy." And its a difference of only one letter.
What other trendy names would you offer alternatives to?
The only other one I can think of is Alexis -> Alice
