Well, generally people who tell others what they're saying is "just dumb" are being hostile or defensive.

But apparently, you meant it as a gesture of friendship; forgive me my incorrect assumption.

I was saying the by the way I had interpreted the statement, it was a dumb statement to me.

"Gesture of friendship" would also be considered an opinion..so yeh, still none
