Hey-

I am currently pregnant and my fiance and I are shooting around names. We sort of said if its a girl I would get to pick the first name and he would get the middle and then if its a boy he would get the first and I the middle...

So here is what we have so far:

Boy: Norman Joseph (Same as my fiances name, and my uncles name for the middle, tho everyone in my family has that middle name. it wouldn't be a junior either.)

Girl: Riley Marie

I really always wanted my kids to have unique names but I guess thats not really going to happen. I LOVE Riley but now of course I hear it everywhere and Marie is for his sister but I think its such a common middle name.

As time goes on I am starting to really dislike both of these but he is set on them so I dont really know how I can say umm ok new names, I dont like them anymore ...

Anyone have any ideas? Maybe different spelling or something? Middle names that might spice up the names?

I don't think all that matters if them at all, a lot of kids hate having really popular names. One girl ended up going by Mickey because we were both Michelle Lynn L. and there was another Michelle Lynn in our grade as well (our classes mixed for certain subjects). It seriously sucked.

I don't know if I HAVE asked you before, but I meant to. Do you like your name?
I love your name. Like a lot. I like the name Emily (this baby is a boy so it's a non-issue I guess) but it is the #1 most popular name (has been for a long time) and I hate that. I was leaning towards Emerson for a girl (if I ever get one) but I REALLY LOVE EMBER. lol

Haha, I really like it. I get the occasional "Amber", but I usually only have to correct people once and they get it, but I stopped correcting people I will never talk to again a long time ago, haha. The only time I've had an issue with someone else having the same name was when there was an Amber, Amburr (pronounces Omm-ber) and me in one class, and we all sat together.

I really like Emerson as well, and Emaline.

My son's name is Brendan and people CONSTANTLY call him "Brandon" and I hate that name. Kind of want to smack them.
