Off-topic, but I don't know where else to put this...

I know this is off the whole subject, but, I am kind of at a loss. Just taking a shot in the dark here...

Does anyone know of any actual FREE people finders? I am looking for my birth father but do not have any money to shell out for the online searches (especially if efforts from those are fruitless). Or just anything that would help me in my search. I have never had any contact with him so I have no information other than a name, an age range, and a vague range of where he was last known to be residing.

it's not free but it's only a few bucks...

i found my boyfriend's birth father via classmates. although his name was generic (jim williams), we had a high school name from an old newspaper clipping of his parent's engagement.

good luck! wish i had a free site to give you but there aren't many...we tried them all.

You could try looking up an address by name if you know the county he lives in.
Just google search for the county name assessors website. That information should be public.

Have you tried facebook?
It's a long shot, but it's free.

I really do hope you find him.

Just in case he's still in LA, why don't you try putting out an "ad" type thing in the newspapers, saying that you're looking for so-and-so, or if anyone knows him or something. I'm not even sure that's possible, or if it costs money or not, but it's worth a shot, right?
