Has your SO ever been stuck on a name that you've absolutely hated?

Example: My boyfriend and his brothers all have names that start with "J" (Jesse, Jerome, and Jonas). He has decided should he ever reproduce, his kids will also have J names. The two top choices:

Jesus (not with a soft J sound but Jee-sus)
Jedi

And no, he's not kidding.

Any takers?

Give the nurse $20 and tell him/her to put the name you want on the certificate, no matter what your hubby insists on.

Please don't name your child Jesus. I say this as a devoted Christian and as a person who loathes mega-religious names on children, because what happens when that future child becomes something completely opposite of what their name implies? It makes for a sticky situation. >_<

Jedi... well... it's not as bad as I would think it would be. Granted, I know nothing of Star Wars, and I guess the references could get annoying every single day of that boy's life, but go for it.

Anyway, I'm not a fan of "theme names", especially when the theme is
letters (like the Duggar family and all 17 of their children have J names, and two of the girls actually have the same name. It's annoying.) just names that make sense together. And, well, you can always throw him a bone and use it as a middle name.

Are you referring to Joy-Anna and Johannah? Or what?

Yup! I know they aren't exactly the same, but I'm sure they'll be going- "No! It's Joy-Anna, and her name is Joeannah. Please, get it right!"- one day.

They use the H in Hannah, so it's actually pronounced Jo-HAN-uh. I agree that it's too similar to Joy-Anna though...as are the twins Jeremiah and Jedidiah. It's got to get confusing.

What's up with Jana, Joy-Anna, and Johannah?

They aren't thinking? It really grates on my nerves, because there are plenty of J names for girls worth using- Jamila, Jael, Jaylin, Jocelyn, Jade, Jaslene, Jasmine, Jada- and it's basically saying that they are lazy in choosing.

XD YES! I know, I know. I'm a fan, so a lot of the names I like or have seen around end up on that show.

For their family, I would suggest Jael, Jocelyn, or Jada. It'd fit in.

And with every single one of them looking a lot alike and having a same-letter name to boot, they should at least give those girls something to distinguish from one another- not names that sound alike.

I agree with that totally, what happens if your parent is wildly Christian and names you Jesus or Catholic [I joke] or something and when you grow older, you start to identify more with a different religion!

I don't know who would be more humiliated- the parents or the child.

Christian is a good example of this.
