Has your SO ever been stuck on a name that you've absolutely hated?

Example: My boyfriend and his brothers all have names that start with "J" (Jesse, Jerome, and Jonas). He has decided should he ever reproduce, his kids will also have J names. The two top choices:

Jesus (not with a soft J sound but Jee-sus)
Jedi

And no, he's not kidding.

well since it seems to be so important to him, i would probably go along with the J thing. I would not however, allow him to name the children Jesus and Jedi. There are plenty of nice J names so you would have plenty to chose from.

Seconded; I'd call that a fair compromise. "I'll let you have J names if you let me pick them."

And either way, both parents ought to have unlimited veto power, just because it would be wrong for either parent to hate their child's name.
