Ditto. I read the OP's pronunciation, and I still keep reading it as AY-vis, unintentionally.

On the other hand AY-vis Harper doesn't really sound bad, either, so it may not be much of a problem.

I keep pronouncing it that way too. But either way I think Avis Harper sounds way better.
