I have the same feeling that Avis and Harper are both on the rough side, so by that standard they would make a better pair!

Ditto. I read the OP's pronunciation, and I still keep reading it as AY-vis, unintentionally.

On the other hand AY-vis Harper doesn't really sound bad, either, so it may not be much of a problem.

That was the thing with Harper, I thought it was kind of eery that Avis means bird and Harper is so much like harpie, which is a bird-woman :)

Oh well, at least we know my character is sure to have an interest in ornithology! lol

hahah yes, it is. It's also a company that collects donated blood in Italy :)
and their font is quite similar to the car rental, too!
