I went to an Easter celebration yesterday - everyone ooh and ahhed over my pregnant belly. it was cute - i felt special and not just like I was fat like I have been feeling. (I have been showing but I am not sure how much because I'm overweight to begin with, but my MIL's sisters told me I'm showing A LOT)
anyway. I was reminded of the two names of my hubby's cousin's little boys:
Kailer (which isn't bad, as his NN is Kai)
and
Kodiak
yeah. Like the camera. And the bear. They call him Kodi-Bear
ew?

Kodiak is ok...seems appropriate for a park ranger's kid. I really dislike Cody as a name or nn, and Kodi - I don't even want to think about it.

I hope Kodi-Bear's really, really young, and they just start calling him Kodi as he gets older. Kodi-Bear seems like some horribly sappy name his high school girlfriend will call him.

In America, R after vowels is pronounced, not turned into an "uh" sound. It's a bit hard to explain, but just know that it would in fact be said quite differently from Kyla.
When I first moved to the UK, I had the hardest time adjusting to the fact that people pronounce "saw" and "sore" nearly the same. They sound COMPLETELY, totally different in the States -- because Americans pronounce Rs after vowels.
