I went to an Easter celebration yesterday - everyone ooh and ahhed over my pregnant belly. it was cute - i felt special and not just like I was fat like I have been feeling. (I have been showing but I am not sure how much because I'm overweight to begin with, but my MIL's sisters told me I'm showing A LOT)

anyway. I was reminded of the two names of my hubby's cousin's little boys:

Kailer (which isn't bad, as his NN is Kai)
and
Kodiak

yeah. Like the camera. And the bear. They call him Kodi-Bear

Is Kailer supposed to be prounced like Kye-luh ? It looks to me like it sound be prounced like Kayla. I know a girl named Kyla so that pronounciation seems so feminie to me.
Kodiak..wtf lol. I like the name Cody, but im not loving the ack sound tacked on the end.

Your userinfo doesn't say, but I'd bet the farm you're not in the US. Brit? Aussie? Kiwi, maybe?

In America, R after vowels is pronounced, not turned into an "uh" sound. It's a bit hard to explain, but just know that it would in fact be said quite differently from Kyla.

When I first moved to the UK, I had the hardest time adjusting to the fact that people pronounce "saw" and "sore" nearly the same. They sound COMPLETELY, totally different in the States -- because Americans pronounce Rs after vowels.
