Do you like or hate your name and why?

Edit: My name is Adriana. When I was younger I wanted a middle name because my older sisters have one but now I come to think, what is there a good middle name for Adriana. I really didn't have an opinion about it till recently. I think it's a nice name only if I didn't know 5 other Adrianas already. But I think it's pretty neat name because it is ethnically ambigious name and no has mispronounced it even though some people say it differently. And it doesn't hurt that 2 of the hottest supermodels have it. (Adriana Lima and Adriana Sklenarikova/Karembeu)

Mine is Emily Kathleen, and I do like it, although at times I get annoyed with how popular it is. In '83 it was at #25, which isn't terrible, and there were only 5 Emilys in my HS class of 600. These days, it's been at #1 for a while, and it just doesn't seem very unique. My husband's name, Christopher, was also a top 10, and although neither have dropped down to sounding "dated" (like Jennifer or Amanda), there's just no way to predict that, so we're using names that are traditional sounding but not on the charts at all in recent years.

I like my middle name a lot, it came to my mother in a dream and she didn't know why, and then years later we discovered a mother and daughter, both named Kathleen, a few generations back who had died young and everyone tried to cover up like they hadn't existed. I like that I'm sort of named after them, and they weren't forgotten after all. I'm also glad Kathleen wasn't my first name, since I'm sure people would have tried to shorten it to Kathy. Yuck.

When I got married I took my husband's last name, but didn't want to drop any of the others, so I added my maiden name as a second middle name. A lot of people assume the maiden was kept as a middle, and I get a lot of mail and checks written that way, along with it being on pots of professional things, so it makes it easier to still have it legally part of my name. I'm glad I didn't have two middle names already, five names would have been too many!
