Do you like or hate your name and why?

Edit: My name is Adriana. When I was younger I wanted a middle name because my older sisters have one but now I come to think, what is there a good middle name for Adriana. I really didn't have an opinion about it till recently. I think it's a nice name only if I didn't know 5 other Adrianas already. But I think it's pretty neat name because it is ethnically ambigious name and no has mispronounced it even though some people say it differently. And it doesn't hurt that 2 of the hottest supermodels have it. (Adriana Lima and Adriana Sklenarikova/Karembeu)

I used to hate my name, which is Christian Leigh, because I always thought of it as a "boy" name (and if i had been a boy, it would'v ebeen the same only my middle name would've been spelled Lee). But now that I'm older, I like it. I like the fact that I have a name thats out of the norm for females. I think the name fits me.

I'm not fond of my first name, Molly, because I think it sounds too much like a nickname, and people always ask what it's short for, and it almost always gets misspelled as "Mollie," which is annoying. And it's not a name I particularly like. I love my middle name (Kate) though.

i changed my name in my late teens, to caroline, which is sort of just an extended form of my birth name (ie: my birth name is a (albeit uncommon) nickname for caroline). i wish now that i hadnt, but thats a whole other issue. i never really liked my first name.

Overall, I like my name. I'm a little annoyed that my parents decided to go with an alternate spelling for my first name (Meagan over Megan), and it always upset me as a child when I couldn't find souveniers and the like with my spelling (which is why I'm against trindyeee yoonik spellings of names).

I like my middle name, LeeAnne, because it's a combination of both of my grandmothers' names (my dad's mom's middle name is Lee; my mom's mom's name was Anne).

The only thing I don't like about it is all of my names are just Irish enough that people may pick up on it, especially when I have red hair; but not so Irish that people immediately think "Oh, Irish" (Meagan LeeAnne Bailey's my full name).

I used to dislike it a lot because it was so uncommon and for some reason, no one could pronounce it. But I always get a lot of compliments on it and it's grown on me since I've gotten older. P.S- My name is Leah.

Meagan

I really like my name. It's pronounced MAYgan and I like it most when people say it that way as opposed to MEGan. But I don't have any trouble with it. I LIKE having to tell people how to spell my name with the extra "a" because it makes it seam special to me.

Aside from having to deal with numerous adults singing "michelle, ma belle" to me throughout my youth, and then pausing to ask if I knew the song...I like my name. It's fairly common, but I run into less and less Michelles as I get older.

I think Michelle Stefanie sounds really pretty together and I'm glad my parents went with the "Stefanie" spelling over "Stephanie" even if it's just a middle name.

My name is Kailani, but I usually go by Kai, it's easier for most people. I've honestly never liked or disliked my name, it's always just been my name. The only time it bothered me was when I was younger people were always mispronouncing it and I was pretty shy so it was hard for me to correct them. If I think about it I guess I like my whole name, it has meaning for my family.

I was named after my grandmother's mother (whose name was Mollie). My parents chose to give me a name with the same first letter (Michelle), but I kind of always wished they had named me Molly instead (even though I like Michelle a lot), because I love the name so much. :D

My name is Angela Marie. I think every other Angela out there has the middle name of Marie. I'm not really fond of the name Angela but started spelling it with 2 Ls nearly 10 years ago and have been pleased with it ever since.

My name is Rebecca Michelle and I've always loved it.
Rebecca is a family name and my mom liked Michelle with it.
I always thought I was lucky because a lot of my friends didn't like their names and I loved mine.

I never really cared for my name: Melissa Rae.
I never felt that the name Melissa fit me well so a friends mom started calling me Missy from a very young age because she didn't feel Melissa fit such a young child either.Though now my friends all call me Mel or Lissa.I used to want to change my name but thats just too much money/time I don't have so I deal with it and just go by my nicknames :)

My name is Samantha Michelle and I don't like it at all. I would much rather be named Michelle. People always call me Sam and I think that's an ugly nickname. To top of it off, I am named after two MEN in my family -- my grandfather Samuel and my father Michael.

oh yeah and Melissa is just way too common! At one point in school there were 6 of us in my homeroom class and no way to shuffle us around to make it easier.

My name is Amanda. The reason I don't like my name is because the majority of girls I've met in my life in my age range were Britneys, Ashleys, and Amandas. If it wasn't so common, I'd like it.

I like it because its not really uncommon. My dad named me, since I was his first child. growing up I really did like getting my personalized name things lol. My middle name is my mom's middle name, and my grandmother's middle name.

I loath my given first name, won't even admit what it is. Only that it was originally a nickname for Elizabeth now used in it's own right.
Well all things considered it's a nice enough name, otherwise why would a bazillion people have used it? Which is part of the problem, the fact it's so common. There's no meaning behind it, and it just doesn't suit me.

My middle name is Clair, and I can live with that. Well once I figured out how to spell it. It's pretty blah in the UK, but seen in a very positive way on name forums. Their enthusiasm has rubbed off a bit. Only reason I'm giving it up is because it doesn't sound right with my chosen name.

Am going to change my name soon as it's convinent. Have been going by Sage for about four years, so am sticking with that [which is no mean feat for a libra]. My middle name will be Cerridwen, Elise or a combo thereof. Cerridwen is a tribute to the Welsh Goddess and just sounds so beautiful. Elise is the closest thing to my given name I can stand, and normal without being common. Feel I need that contrast.

A four year old in the preschool I work at is named Annika, but we never call her that, it's always "Annie." Why not just name a child Ann or Anne in that case?? Do you go by Ann or Annie ever?

I liked my name until I found out it was so popluar. There were always two other Amanda's in my class growing up, and in high school it got worse. I agree with the other Amanda up there, most of the girls in any proximity to my age were Jennifer, Jessica, Ashley, or surprise...Amanda!

I'm circa 1983.

I wouldn't mind my name if my name was actually Jessica, but no, my mom had to just have "Jessie". I can't count the times I get called Jessica... and as much as I'd rather be Jessica, I get irked when people call me it because it's not my name :/
