Well a name is a name to me, I like the names but I just couldn't see myself using them on boys so I use them for girls. I'm not doing it to be trendy and not because I want my girls to have "strong" names. I wouldn't avoid using a name I liked on a boy either because people think its too feminine (like Meryl).

Its just my preference for a few names that, honestly when I do have children I probably wont end up using. Because I know I'll have changed my mind a million times by then.

Nah. Its just the names I like right now are always changing and those happen to be a few of the ones I'm not completely sold on. I try to shy away from trendy and towards more (classic I guess?) names because I know what its like to have a name that the novelty of that name wears off pretty quickly.

To me trendy would be Madison or Aiden, I think boys names on girls has been going on for a long time and is pretty generally accepted. Trendier ones I have seen have been like, a girl named Hunter.

I didn't know that :P thats why I like this community, I can learn whats really up with a name. I wasn't using Shane or Brett to be unique, Shane I've been toying around with for a while on either sex and Brett is a girl in a band I happened to like.

I just mean, I'd rather give a kid a name they can go with comfortable through their entire lives that isn't everyone and their second cousins name. I know some of my favorites are pretty popular, I'm banking on that if I still like them by the time I have kids they will have died down.

No Emmas or Braeideynnes for me thanks :p.

If I like it, I like it. I'm not doing it because theres some secret committee that regulates the number of subscribers to each trend.

I'd like to not have to use the words at all but it can be hard to get around.

Haha its okay its nice to talk about something real with someone.

I'm not upset about it or anything, I've learned not to take too much personally because some people can be over zealous about proper acceptable names. Some people think mine are too trendy or too out there, I'm just going with names I like that I think can stand up throughout a persons entire life.

Someone is always going to think its "too" something, I just hate feeling like I've been stamped with something.
