(no subject)

This is a question for a story I'm writing.
What name could I use the nickname Janie for besides Jane?

Janelle? The only one I can think of.

Janine was the first thing that came to my mind.

(sorry, I thought you were asking for nicknames FOR Janie)

How about Jayna? Janae, Janesa, Jannete, Janine, Janna, Janus. :)

There is always the thought of a name that is nothing like Janie, such as the line in the Beatles song Rocky Raccoon:

Her name was Magil and she called herself Lil
But everyone knew her as Nancy.

Perhaps there could be a side story with the reason for the nickname Janie.

Or maybe her name could be Mary, middle name Jane.. and Janie is a nickname based off her middle name? It wouldn't have to be Mary as the first name of course, but any name as the first name, followed by Jane or something similar. I think it would be unique to base a nickname off a middle name. Just a thought.

In Jane Eyre, Mr. Rochester calls her Janet.
