What do you think of the name Calliope?

I'm looking for more than "I like it" or "I hate it." Like, do you know how to pronounce it? Do you think it's too weird? Do you like the sound? Do you have any further thoughts?

wouldnt want to pronounce it. wouldnt know how to spell it. and even if i did, what about when baby goes to school? i bet little 6yr olds couldnt spell it. i think she(im assuming) would have to spell it the rest of her life for every little thing.

I never understand this argument. What makes you think Calliope is harder to learn to spell than Jennifer or Christina or McKayleigh or pretty much any other name a child carries into their Grade 1 writing class. Nobody knows how at first, and every name is weird the first time you see it.

I don't care if you don't like it, I just don't understand your argument.

I agree with you. It's no harder to spell than Jennifer,and definitely easier than some of those atrocious kr8tyv names.

wow. i would NEVER name a kid mckayleigh. ever.
most kids can pronounce names like jennifer though. Im not saying i'd use jennifer either, too common. dont want anouther jennifer c.

and for the record. i do like it. i think its pretty. but i think of the convience of spelling for the child too:)
