My husband and I are expecting our first child in less than a week, and we're still crunching on names. We do have the middle names down:
River for a girl, Nathan for a boy. We have two girls names picked:
Ainsley River
and
Mackenzie River

and three boys names:
William Nathan
Christopher Nathan
Jacob Nathan

Which are your favorites? Why? Or, if you don't like any of them, why not?

Is the Mackenzie River thing a joke? (I'm really asking, not being snarky)
If you are not joking, please, please don't name her that. The Mackenzie River is very well known. It is the longest river in Canada (and the second longest in North America after the Mississippi). So it's like naming a kid Mississippi River - even you have some great sentimental attachment to the river, it's still pretty ridiculous.

Besides, Mackenzie is a trendy name that will sound very dated in a generation (and IMO last names don't usually make good first names, esp. for girls). Ainsley's nice.

Is it bad that with all of the agonizing and obsessing I did over the names, I COMPLETELY MISSED THIS?! Ugh. Ugh. Ugh.

My husband likes Mackenzie, though, so it might stay there, with a different middle name. Ugh.

Hahaha. Poor you! But you did catch it in time - better now than when she's in geography class and starts wondering why she was named after a Canadian body of water :)

I don't like Mackenzie anyway, but if you do use it a different mn would definitely be in order! Something more feminine I'd say...
