Date: 2008-02-23 03:07 am (UTC)I really like Esme. And Nelly spelled as such. And Hero for a boy and Heroe for a girl.
I think Sage is gaining too much popularity.

Date: 2008-02-23 04:02 am (UTC)Sage is gaining popularity and that can turn me off to something... but I still kinda like it.

Willah - of COURSE i love this. I have a cat named Willabird. I love her name so much!
I knew a little toddler named Jae'Cie. She was dear to me.
Twilight I also like!

Date: 2008-02-23 04:09 am (UTC)Willabird, that is so cute! And I like that spelling of Jacey.
But Twilight as a name??? maybe a middle name, I don't know, it's my husband's favorite.

Date: 2008-02-23 03:31 am (UTC)I love Autumn, Ivy, Meadow, Skye, Quinn, Zoelie, Tenly, and Esme for girls.
I also like Quinn for a boy, and Rowen- but Rowen definitely is a boy name to me.
I love your taste in names, though! Very unique.

Date: 2008-02-23 03:34 am (UTC)I should have thought a little more about Jezabelle, I just liked how it sounded... oops. : )

Date: 2008-02-23 03:51 am (UTC)Autumn
Ivy
Sage, though it feels somewhat masculine to me
Rowen for a boy
Twilight is pretty, but a bit to extreme for a name IMO.
I really love Esme
Zoelie feels a bit made up to me. Prn like Zoe-Lee [as in the name Zoe with lee on the end] or Zo-lee?
no subject
Date: 2008-02-23 03:54 am (UTC)I actually found Zoelie on here on someone else's post and kinda liked it. Some of the best names are made up!

Date: 2008-02-23 04:30 am (UTC)I think Ember and Phoenix might be my favorites. I also really like Esme, though.
Twilight reminds me of a girl I knew named Twila (she'd be nearly 30 now). I have both pleasant and unpleasant memories of her, that are making me iffy on both Twila and Twilight, lol.
I like Aura better as a nickname for Aurora or Aurelia, but it's not too bad on its own--just very unusual and IMO a little spacey-sounding.
Nelly is usually a nickname for Ellen rather than a stand-alone (though it can be either), so instead of using an alternate form, you could name the baby Ellen but call her Nell or Nelly. I also like Eleanor as an alternative form, and it's got plenty of short forms for everyday use.
I like Joy, but you might also consider some things that have similar meanings--Leticia means joy, for instance, and Felicia means happy or fortunate. I believe Risa means laughter.

Date: 2008-02-23 04:39 am (UTC)And the same with Joy, being my middle name I would be naming the baby after me, but not directly.

Skye
Quinn

Date: 2008-02-23 04:38 am (UTC)Joy (but prefer Joyce)
Esme
Zuzanna...well, Susannah is more my style, and I'd use Zsa Zsa as a nn.
River, maybe even Rivers
Juniper
Skye
Sage
Ivy!! <3 that one!
no subject
Date: 2008-02-23 05:13 pm (UTC)I thought about naming a little girl, Zsa, but I don't think it would work simply because there is only ONE ZSA!! ;D

Quinn
Aura
Willah

I also work at a preschool and there are some neat names some of the kids have. There was a girl names Rowen, and her sister is Sorrel. Maybe you would like some of the names; Moxie, Freya, Raina

Date: 2008-02-23 05:31 am (UTC)Skye reminds me too much of Skype.
I'm not big on Choice at all. But I generally hate names like Hope, Faith, etc. Names that are actually words.

Date: 2008-02-23 05:35 am (UTC)Twilight - um... I think this sounds more like a word/time of day than a name. I'd be afraid any kid with this name would be teased a lot.

Date: 2008-02-23 05:40 am (UTC)Yeah.... Twilight. get this the reason he likes this name is because of his favorite movie, Twilight Samurai. And yep, that's the middle name that he wants too. (It's not going to happen.)

Autumn

Neila is cool too, but how about Nyla? It's a Gaelic name that means 'cloud'.

Willah
Rowen (for either sex)
Esme
Juniper (Junie is such a cute nn)
I'm not crazy about the rest of them but the only ones I hate are:
Skye
Phoenix
Choice
River
Hero
Twilight

Esme

Date: 2008-02-23 04:11 pm (UTC)2. Eleny- I don't like naming after a family member.. but if you do use this then the correct spelling is Eleni.
3. Caileigh- One of the trashiest names.. this spelling is pretty horrendous.
4. Neila, Neelie, Nillie*- Don't care for any of these
5. Eshne (little fire) - Never come across it before. Don't like it
6.Autumn- Pretty.
7. Ivy - I can't get on board with this, reminds me of poison ivy.
8. Meadow- Too over the top.
9. Sage- Just not pretty enough.
10. Skye- It's okay
11. Phoenix - No no no.. trying far too hard.
12. Quinn- I want to hate this because it's a surname, and masculine at that but I find myself drawn to it. I think it makes for a good middle name
13. Aura - Aurora is beautiful. Aura looks unfinished
14. Ember - Really like it, but not sure how well it would work on a real person.
15. Atliegh** - It's made up, terrible. It doesn't even make phonetic sense.. Atleigh? But then it looks like a surname, or a place. Urgh.
16. Zoelie - Again, what?
17. Juniper- not too bad considering some on your list, quirky.
18. Jacey - Vile. Tacky and will date so easily.
19. Willah - If you want to honor someone I'd save it for the middle name. Willa is better than Willah.
20. Nydia - Looks incredibly made up. Nadia would be better
21. Choice- This is NOT a name, this is a word. What makes yuo think Choice is a good name for a child?
22. River- Too masculine
23. Marcy- ugly
24. Rowen- it's a boy's name. i wish people would stop thinking it's cute to use perfectly good boy's names on girls!
25. Hero- Yes yes a girl's name but really.. it screams masculine to most people.
26. Tenly*- It's not sweet and cute, it's just a made up sound..
27. Thime- huh?
28. Zuzanna - unless you're of russian descent I'd suggest you used Susannah.
29. Twilight- I think you're husband is a little crazy and has clearly forgotten that this baby is going to be a real person who will most likely hate him for giving her an atrotious name.
30. Esme, Esmee, Ezmee- Esmé is gorgeous, Esmee is perfectly fine but I prefer the first spelling. Ezmee is ugly and made uo.
31. Joy**- not to my taste but a normal name so thumbs up.
Go with Esmé, and ditch about 90% of the 'names'!

Date: 2008-02-23 05:04 pm (UTC)Autumn
Ivy
Sage
Skye
Quinn
Esme
How do you pronounce Atliegh? I want to pronounce it as AT-lee, which would then be the name of my high school and a magnificent NO.
