(no subject)

DH and I are getting a puppy this weekend and I'm trying to think of a name. We have a cat named Winston (after Churchill), so it would be nice to stick with another W name. Also, we would want the name to have some kind of historical significance. I have also heard that dogs respond best to names that have a -y or -ie sound on the end (like Molly or Sammy). TIA!

Winslow!

Willow.

Not exactly historical but...I plan to get two dogs and name them Winston and Willow hehe

I like Willow too because it's my cat's name. We all call her Willie though so it does work for the -y ending name too.

Wilhelm like the kaiser . . . you could call him Willy for short

I like Willy and Winnifred (Winni)

I'm pretty sure the cat from Pet Semetary was named after Winston Churchill too, but they call him Church for short, I think.

Heh, Pet Semetary was the first thing I thought of, too.

Woodrow! =D
You could shorten it to Woody, haha. Or just Wilson/Willy.
