Hmmm....

There are a lot of names that make me go hmm.....and I am pretty broadminded about names. There is one thing that really gets me though - titles as names. I know it sounds weird since I don't have a problem with "job" names (Thatcher, Archer, etc), but title names irk me. Today I met a boy named Sir Charles Edward (last name). Until recently I had a client named Sir Reece (last name). He went by Sir. I don't think Lady, Countess, or Princess are good names. One of my coworkers has a cousin named Sir Mister (last name). We also had a client named Mister President (last name that rhymed with mister).

Records also show a Sir James, Sir Mack, Sir Dawn, Sir Bryan, Sirdarrius John, Sir Jonathan, Sir Charlton Edward, SirGaren DeMale, Sir George, Sir Gregory, Sir Christian, SirKendrick, Sir Larry,  SirElen Ray, Sir England Dominique, Sir Erok Edwin Dawon Goodwin, Sir Christopher, Sir Jermaih, SirJames, and Sir Melvin James.

Now, most of these names are fine names. James is one of my favorites. The Sir ruins it for me. WDYT?

I was kind of horrified when someone explained to me that that's how St. John Rivers' name was pronounced ... I didn't like St. John as a name to begin with, but that just made it a million times worse.
