Baby Name Wizard!

i discovered an amazing tool to determine the popularity of names we're thinking of for our baby. go to http://www.babynamewizard.com/namevoyager/lnv0105.html and type in the name. results are per million babies. you need java for it to work.
note: if you hit backspace too many times, it closes the applet, and you have to start all over again. that part sucks, but the site is great otherwise.

This is one of my favorite websites! I love her blog and her book, too. I picked out names for this baby by scanning along the names from the 1880s to see which old names aren't on the charts today.

Neat :)
Really like that site, am considering getting book itself too.

behindthename.com is also great for stats, that has them for all the last five/ten years, then by decade.
