I really want to name my daughter Katie Ann Michelle. Katie Ann being her first name (KatieAnn doesn't look right at all). Do you have any suggestions for a better middle name?

Also, for a boy's name, I don't really have any favorites, but my boyfriend (we are young to be thinking about kids, but that's not important!) really likes the name Nigel Riley. I can compromise the Nigel, even though it reminds me of some Steve Irwin type guy, but I like the sound of Nigel Walker much better. What do you think?

Thanks. I hadn't posted anything here before, and always meant to ask you all what you thought.

I have to say, I would absolutely not use Katie Ann as a first name. Your daughter will hopefully grow up into a sophisticated, dignified adult. I understand that Katie is really cute, and some grownups still use Katie for nicknames, but I would not do it. How about Kate Ann, Katherine Ann, or Kathleen Ann? They're all really good, sophisticated names that would yield the nickname Katie Ann. I don't care for Michelle. Do you have a family member or friend whose name you could use?

Here's some ideas with the different combos:

Kate Ann Theresa
Kate Ann Hope
Kate Ann Regina
Kate Ann Tessa
Kate Ann Zoe

Katherine Ann Regan
Katherine Ann Olivia
Katherine Ann Petra
Katherine Ann Elizabeth
Katherine Ann Daphne

Kathleen Ann Ivy
Kathleen Ann Louisa
Kathleen Ann Eleanor
Kathleen Ann Brenna
Kathleen Ann Georgia

And I like Nigel Riley. Nigel Walker sounds odd to me. How about Nigel Willis, Nigel Beckett, Nigel Henry, or Nigel Paul?
