Welcoming Damien Tyler, baby brother to sister Isabel (Izzy) Kathleen. Born yesterday to Victoria and Scott.

Damien is a little punk for my taste, but it totally works for my friend. :)

1. My 2 fav names for a boy lately seems to be Gabriel and Donovan. I proposed either Gabriel Donovan or Donovan Gabriel for our boy name (just found out we're preggo) and he's actually ok with the names (he favors Gabriel Donovan). I'm unsure though if the two go well together or if my love for both names is clouding my judgement.

So, wdyt? Do the two names go together (first and middle)? Which do you think works best? What other middle names would you suggest? Also, twins are common in the fam. Do you think Gabriel and Donovan as seperate boy twin names works? What other names would you suggest for either one twin-wise? ( Gabriel and ----- , Dononvan and -----). I think Lucien and Gabriel go awesome together, but Lucien is already my 1 year old's name.

ETA: Donovan Lamont (first and middle, both scottish/gaelic) and Gabriel Isaiah (first and middle, both hebrew/biblical). Kinda liking both of those. The hubs approves of twin names of Gabriel Lucus and Donovan Gray/Blake.

2. We decided to tell everyone a fake boy name for this one, for various reasons. The name: Mustang Maximus. ( Tang for nn! :D ) Everyone's been asking for a 2nd/backup name, in case of twins and so I'm leaning towards Wolfgang *something* So now I'm curious on if anyone else has done a joke name, and if so, what was it? Any good stories from it?

I want to preface this by saying...I am not pregnant, nor do I plan to become pregnant in the foreseeable future, so these name are all for hypothetical children.

I have two names picked out for girls that I have my heart set on using: Colleen Bess and Ruth Marie. They are names that I have picked because they have special meaning to me. I also have a long list of girls names that I like if I needed more than two girls names, and a few guilty pleasure names. One such guilty pleasure name is Dusty (more specifically, Dusty Rose). I had a volunteer once named Dusty and I thought the name was cute and worked for her, but while I liked it...I'm not sure it's one that I'd ever really use.

On the other hand, I have a hard time with names for boys. I'm picky when it comes to popularity of names (it comes from being an Amanda in the 80s), so if a name is too popular or seems like it is becoming too popular, it looses it's appeal to me. My #1 boys name for quite awhile was Justin, but...I feel it's too popular (anything in the Top 100 is "too popular" for my taste).

Today I came up with the idea to combine one of my guilty pleasures and one of my favorite boys names and come up with a boys name I would actually use. That being said...what do you think of the name Dustin for a boy, with the nn Dusty?
