A customer has been coming in to my shop, quite regularly, this past month. I'd never seen her before this, and she's constantly calling her daughter over, who I'd put around 5.

Her daughter's name is Shy. I'm not sure if it's spelled that way, but it's definitely the way it sounds. I suppose it could be Shai, or Chai. Though I'm more inclined to think her name is Cheyanne. I kind of want to ask her, because I'm curious, but how would I go about it? Should I mention that it's an unusual name or something and that I like it? Or what?

A Facebook friend named his daughter Odile. According to google it is pronounced O-deal but I am inclined to say O-dial. Another source says some people pronounce it (incorrectly) O-de-lay. What do you think?
