What do you think about untranslated Native American names?

The other kids at the summer reading thing I help with have been a little annoying about it, but Savakti has shot everybody else down with 'it was grandpa's name and his mother's and her great uncle's' as an explanation. She's pretty proud of it, actually, which is cute as can be on a five year old.

In her parent's language, Inupiaq, Savakti it means 'maker/creator of things'. Her brother is a year older than her and is named Mixik, which means 'very soft' or 'gentle'. Their father, who picks them up everyday and tolerates the cheesiness of their books choices, is named Sukun, meaning 'finds a way'. They seem like a really sweet group, even if the other kids saddled Savakti and Mixik with the unfortunate nicknames of Sava and Mix.

2 babies born in my family recently: Brantley Joshua, Lucas Chase

other babies born recently: Bentley Earl, Brynleigh Faith (i think that's how she spelled it)

me && the husband have talked about soo many names lol.
we're pretty sure Katelyn Elisabeth is wat we want to name our 1st daughter. our 1st son will either be Robert Wilton or John Duncan/Donovan/Darius (still not sure lol) possibly John D(whatever we decide) Wilton. or even J.D. Wilton (the initials wold be in honor of his grandfather anyway, && his didn't stand for anything) 

other boy names we've talked about are Christopher, Robert James. i like Christopher James.. i also mentioned Shawn && my husband likes Andrew for boys.
for girls, we've mentioned Frances Isabel as another possibility. i like Zatanna (yep from batman lol) but my husband doesn't eventho he's a huge comic book geek! Jessy Harlee was another name we threw around. annnd i like Jaymes for a girl, maybe even Graceyn Jaymes, we could always nn her Gracie. i kinda like the name Reyna too..

i still kinda want to name a girl something that can be shortened to Ally (Alecia, Alexandra, Alexis, Alexa)  

Chess?

I've created an OC who goes by Chess (the nn is derived from the Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland). However, its got me thinking about names that could have Chess as a nn? Francesca is the first thing that comes to mind...but then my mind goes blank lol. Just a curiosity question... there has to be more than one name LOL.!

**Edit** yes its a girl, sorry...forgot you folks can't read my mind via the interwebz LOL
