My grandmother got two turtles for Mother's Day last year, which was around the time William and Kate got married so that's what she named them. Well, William escaped recently so a family member bought her a new baby turtle so Kate wouldn't be lonesome. The sex is unknown so anything was fair game name-wise. The three top runners were Teddy, Willow, and June, with June winning out. So Kate and June. Good turtle set?

Here are more names from my cousin's graduating class.

I hope this is okay to post here (I won't be offended if you need to remove this post)...

I did some digging as to why I'm so fascinated with names and about what my new last name means and how it relates to me. I figured there's no better place to share what I discovered about the topic than with a bunch of people who follow a naming community and most likely share the same interest in names that I do.

If you want to read, I hope you enjoy it! :)

Hello, lovely people! This is my first post in this community - I've always been hugely interested in names even as a little girl, so I have had many hours of awesome reading through posts and I thank you for that!

So, I'm a huge fan of Tamora Pierce, and there are quite a few names I like from her multiple series. I'm canvassing opinions about them: which do you like, which do you dislike, which can be used or not (this is particularly interesting to me in terms of your opinions). Some are more "normal" than others. So, without further ado:

Names here )

Apologies if a post like this has been made before!

Alyson Hannigan and Alexis Denisof have welcomed their second daughter: Keeva Jane. Their first daughter is named Satyana Marie. Satyana is still a name that I don't know how to pronounce, so I personally like Keeva Jane a lot more.

According to Behind the Name, it is the Anglicized form of Caoimhe, Gaelic for beautiful, gentle, and kind. So, actually, now that I know what it is and what it means, I kind of like it a lot. It's interesting to me.

WDYT?

And WDYT of Anglicizing names like Caoimhe, presumably to aid in their pronunciation? Because I like the way Caoimhe looks.
