A co-worker gave birth just before Christmas, and the name is Zephaniah Surya, joining older sister Zoraya. I quite like the sib-set although neither are names I would consider, but I don't like the similarity between Zoraya and Surya in pronunciation. Also, her manager who gave me the news wasn't sure if new baby was a boy or a girl, but I can't imagine using Zephaniah for a girl??! WDYT?

Watching a rerun of Supernanny. The names of the children made me go "Bwah?"

Parents: Beverly and Eric
Emily, 11
Emmett, 9
Emma Jo, 7
Emerson (boy), 4
Ember (girl), 1 1/2

Why would you do that to yourself?! I've heard plenty of stories where parents trip over their kids' names when they aren't even remotely similar. I can't imagining purposely setting yourself for that.

Today I met someone named Betty...and she was a 4-year-old girl. For once, I didn't immediately think "old lady name" when I heard it. It was actually cute on her and suited her well.

Do you think Betty/Bettie is due for a comeback? Or is it too old-fashioned?
