(and without trying to get the Dierks Bentley song in my head. . .)

I recently came across a story I wrote in 2005. I'm looking at some of these names, wondering what I was thinking. I'm not sure that it's necessarly any names in particular that suck (other than the pets in my opinion), but just together.

Main character: Gracelyn Adaline Williams McGinnley(nn Gracie, Grace, etc.)
Gracelyn's b/f: Alex McGinnley
Waitress: Billie Jo (it's a country restaurant. . .as in the workers have southern accents, the band plays country music, and the table cloths are checkered)
Alex's family: Sarah McGinnley (mom), Chocolate Chip (dog), Shadow (cat), Shawna McGinnley (sister), Bob McGinnley (dad)
Friends: Shawn Peller [reminds me now of Penn & Teller], Andy Marhsall, Gary Kronwall [I must have hit up the hockey roster], Steve Washington, Colin Herrold, Ryan Mawkrey [anything like Ryan Stiles and Colin Mochrie?], Danny Hampton, Shane Simpson
Gracelyn's family: John Williams [me now: really?????] (dad)
Gracelyn and Alex's family: Erica Marie McGinnley, Shannon Carla McGinnley, Amber Dawn McGinnley

I just feel there are far too many S's in the McGinnley family.

David Cameron's new-born daughter is to be named Florence Rose Endellion, Downing Street has revealed.

Source: BBC.co.uk

That's a gorgeous name. Here's hoping it starts a trend because I love the name Florence.

Cameron

What would you pair with Cameron? I'm working on a story and have a male character named Cameron, but I can't find any middle names. Cameron could also be the middle name if there's a good first to go with it. Suggestions? :D

I love the name Nora, but I really do not want my children to have a name that any other kids in their class/school/life is going to have. I mean I don't want it to be too out there, and I know theres always a chance that they're going to meet someone with their name..

But I digress--

Should I be concerned if the name Nora has gone from #503 to #197 in the last 10 years?

How does one determine if the name will continue to rise, or hit its peak?

Charis

Pronounced: KAR-is

I just learned about Charis Wilson, and instantly loved her name. What do you think of it?

Also: spelling; an alternative spelling is Kharis, but some people will say, "Why the H?" and spell it Karis.

I usually favour classic spellings, so, if I had to pick, I'd choose Charis.

I work at a pizza place, and don't really pay attention to customer's names. But after today I think I will. Especially after these beauties...

Tazzney
Bryona Jessie

Natisha

Then my co-worker came back from Border's saying she made new friends.

A mother, Vera, and her little daughters Victoria, Anna, and Noelle.

I like the the family's names. I don't like the customers I had. Well, I liked the customers. I didn't like their names.

Okay, my husband would really love if we have a son, that we'd name him Emery Lee Rodriguez Jr.

I'm not totally opposed to the idea, I'm just not completely in love with it either...

My question here is, IF we did name him Emery Lee Rodriguez Jr. would it make sense if we called him M.j.? My thinking is that my husbands family, and I call him "Em" for short. So Em + J = M.j... Follow?

The only reason I'm asking is because my husbands brother's name is Emmanuel Jacob, but he has gone by E.j. his entire life, so I really don't want to name my son Emery Lee Jr. and call him Ej..

Emery Lee Rodriguez Jr. = M.j.?

I have recently thought of Sarah + Lynn, like Saralyn, Sarahlynn, or Sarah-Lynn. I do think it sounds nice together.
I have also thought of maybe Mai-Lisette or Rose-Lisette. Dunno, maybe that's too french.
