I've been working on a new story idea (they grow like weeds in my brain) and came up with names for the main characters last night. I'd be interested in knowing if you think the names fit the characters. It's a fantasy novel with the standard sort of semi-medieval setting.
Tor Sutherland is a military medic, looks to be in his late 30s but is actually much older. He's a god-touched, a ninelives, there's lots of words for it, but anyway death tends to not be permanent for him. Broody, taciturn guy with a tragic past. Mostly goes by his last name. First name Tor is after the rock formation.
Andry Rawbone is a young soldier who just died for the first time and realized he's a ninelives, like Sutherland. He's all made up of extremes, a jumpy bundle of adolescent insecurity and hotheaded reckless courage. Sutherland has taken him under his wing.
Marona Ferry is in her mid-thirties, a priestess or ex-priestess of some sort (I haven't decided on the details). She's very serene and motherly, with a strong dedication to ideals that circumstances, such as protecting her daughter, are forcing her to violate.
Thistle Ferry is Marona's 7-year-old daughter, a clever and high-tempered redhead, stubborn and too smart for her own good. She's god-touched like Sutherland and Andry, and has already died three times.
