Okay, it actually commits the two worst cardinal sins of trendyness- it's a word and it's misspelt- but Forest, doesn't really look right either. Is it like Lilly, where Lily is the flower and Lilly is the name? So, the misspelling is acceptable? Krystal/Kristal is another example because I think they are a lot more popular than Crystal.

I've actually fallen in love with the name Forrest and would seriously consider using it one day.

I don't think Forrest is at all trendy right now. Honestly my first thought will always be Forrest Gump. My MiL told me that they almost named my husband Forrest Jesse (his name is Brandon Scott.) Good thing they didn't because when the movie came out we were 9 or 10 years old....kids would have been cruel. ;)

But yes I think Forrest is an actual name. It's meant to be spelled that way.

I kind of like it, but it does make me think of Forrest Gump...
It also makes me think of the guy who was pecked to death by crows in the first Resident Evil game, but I always thought that was kinda cool (nerd) and it was there that I started liking the name

Forrest is a legitimate name, but I don't like it, and as others have mentioned, he would have to live with the Forrest Gump thing forever.

I believe that Forrest is a legitimate name and different from the word Forest (which can also be used as a name), just like Lilly is a legitimate name and different from the word Lily (which can also be used as a name).

I'm not quite sure that made any sense. I really do like Forrest though, despite the Forrest Gump association.

It is an actual name, my dad's uncle is named Forrest. He was born in the 1920's-1930's (my dad is 55).

I have a cousin Forrest, who was born about a year before Forrest Gump came out. He's the only young person I know named that, but strange enough he had a classmate named Forrest when he lived with my mom for 6 months.

The name reminds me of the news anchor Forrest Sawyer.

I honestly didn't even think of Forrest Gump - I thought of Forrest Kline (who is an asshole but whatever). I think it's a nice name though, and not trendy.

It's a legitimate name, and has a Wikipedia entry (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forrest). If you're in the South (US), people are possibly going to connect it with Nathan Bedford Forrest (of the KKK).

I think Forrest is a very handsome name. I've only known one guy named Forrest, and he's in his 50s-60s. I too dislike when word names are misspelled, but Forrest is the traditional way to spell the name (it's after a surname), so it doesn't count.

Lily is the flower, and Lilly is spelled that way because it's the way you'd spell it as a nn for Lillian, Lillias, Lillith, etc.

Krystal is more popular than Crystal, but Forrest isn't the same case because Krystal isn't a surname.

i would only use it spelled that way. not that i would ever use it. i actually hate it, really. my cousin tagged her son with that name. i find it annoying, but i dont like names like that... tanner, parker, hunter...
