I have a friend by the name of Donald (but everyone calls him Donny, and that's how he introduces himself). I always knew he had a younger brother, but I didn't know what his name was until the other day, when he happened to mention it. I seriously loled, guys:

Ronald.

Donald & Ronald. Wow.

Wdyt of the name Velouria, as in the Pixies song. I like it and it's the first song I head by the Pixies, but I don't think I'd ever use it on a kid... well, maybe as a middle name.

What do people think of two parents with the same initial naming their kid the same initial as them?

I ask because I'm Megan, my Mum is Margaret and my Dad is Mike. We all have the same first and last initial which can get confusing when letters come addressed to MO and we don't know who it's for xD Now I go by MSO with my middle name in there (Sarah) to stop confusion lol.

I also think it's cool that Megan is a variation of Margaret, so it's like my Mum named me after her but not the same name xD

And how does everybody pronounce Megan? I pronounce it Mee-gan, but loads of people pronounce it May-gan. I've been told (by my father no less!) that May-gan is the correct pronounciation and that Mee-gan is the wrong one. When I asked him why they decided to pronounce it the "wrong" way he didn't have an answer xD

You'd think it would be an easy name to pronounce but EVERY teacher I had at school pronounced it May-gan. One teacher couldn't grasp the fact it was pronounced Mee-gan and called me wrong for the whole year x_x

Oh my...

My boyfriend's roommate and his (soon to be ex) wife are expecting their second child soon. He has a son from a previous marriage, and so does she, so these are their children's names: Christopher (hers- 7yrs old), Xaiver (his- 5yrs old), and Ava (theirs together- 3yrs old).

These are the names they've thrown around for the new baby:
Brandon
Jaden
Leo
Maiden
Felix

Maiden?? I'm not really sure where that came from. I kind of looked at him sideways when he showed me the list and I read that one LOL

So, I haven't posted my favorite names in awhile. More narrowed down (not that I'm expecting any time soon!)

VOTE on my Name List

Please please comment! I love comments and suggestions!

PS. Helene is suppose to be Hélène. prn. Hell-n.

James, Evelyn and Hélène are the only names with significance to me.

At my doctor's today the woman asked if I preferred to be called Sam or Samantha. Then she said, "I just ask that because I hate my real name. Everyone calls me Ebbie, but my real name's Isabella." She had an Irish accent so she could have meant Ibby.

But either way, WDYT of this nn's for Isabella? I've never heard of them, and I like them. They're different than the typical Izzy or Bella. Which I like Izzy better, too. I hate Bella. It's too cliche.

I've run out of room on the piece of paper I keep track of odd names on, so here's the most recent list. These come from a variety of sources - birth announcements, obituaries, graduation lists, and more. Be warned - it's long. There are some real doozies, though!

What do you all think of Gabriel?
I had a dream the other night that we named our baby this.
My husband likes it very much but I am unsure because it is so popular.

I'm finding myself liking the name Caspian for a boy more and more. Obviously associated with Prince Caspian and the Caspian Sea, I think the name is unique enough to make my list while still having connections that are masculine. Thoughts on using as a first name or mn?

I've been in Massachusetts for a few days and now I'm spending a lot of time with my family. So I've picked up a few of my  family names lately, and I like a few of them.
